John Mitchell Haulage and Warehousing was founded in 1956 by John Mitchell, starting with one second-hand lorry operating from Grangemouth in Central Scotland. Over the years, the company expanded and diversified, offering a full range of transport services, including general haulage, container movements, bulk freight transport, and warehousing.
In 1973, the company moved to a purpose-built three-acre haulage depot in Grangemouth, with new offices, workshop, and storage facilities. Continued growth in the 1990s saw the acquisition of an additional site in Grangemouth, the Thornbridge Depot.
The commpany remains a family-owned and managed company, with Iain Mitchell at the helm. Iain has successfully blended the founding core values and principles installed by his late parents, John and Catriona, with the latest technology and operating equipment.
It has been awarded a number of industry accolades over the years, including the prestigious Motor Transport, UK Haulier of the Year award in 2002.
Today it is one of the largest family-owned road haulage companies in Scotland, with a fleet of over 100 vehicles and a team of over 150 employees. The company operates from its two depots in Grangemouth and provides services to customers throughout the UK and Europe.
In addition to its haulage and warehousing services, John Mitchell Haulage and Warehousing also offers a range of other services, including:
